The community organisations below can all issue food vouchers for our food bank and will make sure you are connected to wider support.
Citizens Advice Haringey
What happens next:
Call them to access food bank vouchers, as well as free and impartial advice to those who live, work or study in Haringey across a range of issues including debt, benefit entitlement, housing queries etc.
Connected Communities
What happens next:
Connected Communities is a programme designed to improve access to council and voluntary support in Haringey. Depending on the support you'd like, they can:
- provide information, advice and guidance, and show you where you can get this information
- introduce you to specialist advisers in another team which could be in the council or in another organisation
- help you access a service, which may include explaining the next steps, helping you complete forms or speaking to service providers on your behalf so that your voice is heard
Haringey Council Financial Support Team
What happens next:
Phone or email them to discuss what support you need. They can issue you with a food bank voucher, which you can then use at the food bank.
Benefits: Applying for and managing benefits, including Council Tax Reduction
Debt: Setting up payment plans, managing arrears, and applying for grants
Housing: Help with housing and childcare costs
Income: Increasing income and managing finances and budgeting
Utilities: Reducing and managing utility arrears
Other support: Introduction to employment support and guidance on paying the correct amount of council tax
Help through Hardship helpline

When you call the helpline, you can speak to a trained advisor who will do an assessment with you over the phone. They can also issue a food bank voucher if needed, and...

- Advise on any extra benefits you might be able to get
- Identify any grants you might be able to apply for
- Refer you to Mind's Infoline for support and information to help you take care of your mental wellbeing
- Give advice on energy efficiency and smart meters
- Help you get some emergency support if you can't afford essentials
